Experiencing the grape harvest at the Mas means spending a few weeks as part of a story that has been going on for over fifty years.

A story born of a unique, deep soil discovered in the Haute Vallée du Gassac. A story of gentle hands, respect for biodiversity, grapes picked one by one, and a microclimate characterised by cool nights and sunny days. A story that continues, vintage after vintage, and one that would not be possible without you.

A unique place in Languedoc

The Haute Vallée du Gassac is an exceptional terroir, discovered in the 1970s by the estate’s founders. Red glacial deposits accumulated over the ages, well-drained, poor in nutrients and challenging, force the vines to struggle to give their best. One square meter = a single glass of wine, filled with everything this unique place has to offer. It is in this unspoilt environment, between the garrigue and micro-plots of old vines, that you will spend the 15 to 25 days of the harvest.

A traditional, hand-picked harvest, enjoyed as a shared labour

The grape harvest knows no age limits: it requires strong arms. Good physical condition is essential, as the day is spent standing in the vineyard ranks, lifting weights of around ten kilos. Each grape is picked by hand, sorted in the vineyard and then on the sorting table by trained eyes and quick fingers. It is physical work, set to the rhythm of the cool morning and the afternoon sun, but above all, it involves a hundred people who form a close-knit team in the vineyard and around the meals prepared with care each day of the harvest. At Mas de Daumas Gassac, we look after those who look after the grapes.

If the idea of playing a part in the creation of a great vintage appeals to you, join us for the 2026 harvest by filling in this form.

Applications and recruitment are open all year round. On-site accommodation is available. The harvest is expected to begin between late August and early September.
