The ‘grands crus’ Mas de Daumas Gassac wines hail exclusively from the magical terroirs of the Gassac valley. The 50 hectares of vines flourish in half to one hectare sized glades, all surrounded by over 1500 hectares of the magnificent wild, Aniane garrigue forest.
The land – made up of glacial dust and Lutetian era limestone - is truly unique : its life has never been threatened by modern chemical fertilizers, over 30 uncloned grape varieties have been planted by the Guibert family since 1971. Yields are naturally low (on average 37 hectolitres per hectare).
The wines are truly alive with incredible aromatic potential and an ability to age well above the norm !
